This is a companion site for the Twitter roleplay account @CountDmitri. It largely pertains to the character as I have developed him, and doesn't really deal with the events seen in The Grand Budapest Hotel, as my RP takes place after the last we see of Dmitri in the film. Needless to say, the events outlined here as well as my account in general are not part of the Grand Budapest canon in any way and neither this site nor the account is affiliated with Wes Anderson or the film in question. It is something I created solely for fun, because I really love the film and the character.
It started as a small project to explore Dmitri's character through what I purport would be his perspective and to present his story, be that as it may, but many years later, it has truly become a creature of its own. Anyway, this is a small way for me to organize the character as I roleplay him because my perspective of him differs from the way he is portrayed in the film (namely because, arguably, we do not really know who he is in the film--we see things as told to us by Student reading Author's book, which details events told to him through Zero Moustafa's perspective. Thus, arguably, we cannot rely on what we see on the screen, especially in regards to characters Zero either dislikes or does not know very well--or, at least this is my argument).
I strive to make him more multilayered than he appears in TGBH, to give him a history rather than merely a supporting/antagonistic role in someone else's story. I don't pretend I do a good or even acceptable job at this, but it is what it is, so here you go. Enjoy!
